I found this recipe on line but changed a few things, it was originally Apple Walnut but I had chocolate chips I wanted to use! So I tried it out and I was pleasantly surprised how good they were! My husband came home from work and could smell apples a mile away! They were super moist too! Nice fall recipe to bake after apple picking!
- 1/2 Cup butter, melted (I used promise light)
- 1 Cup white sugar
- 1 Egg
- 3 medium apples – peeled, cored and thinly sliced, then cut in half
- 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips
- 1 Cup All-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, beat together the melted butter, sugar, and egg until fluffy. Fold in the apples and chocolate chips. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Stir the flour mixture into the wet mixture and blend. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
Bake 35 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool before cutting and removing.
