I found this recipe as I was searching for ways to get my blog out their, I came across this other blog for crockpot meals and found it was worth posting because I’ve always wanted to cook a whole chicken but never really knew how, so how better than in your crock. It’s a fantastic idea because their will be leftovers! How awesome you can make chicken soup, chicken salad, chicken pot pie, or even use it in casseroles or pastas!
There are no ingredients for this crock meal so just follow the instructions below and you can have yourself a nice hearty meal with whatever sides you’d like!
1.) Buy any whole chicken that will fit into your crock. Alot of grocery stores will have them on sale adn it’s a great way to save money and get many meals (and broth out of it.)
2.) Unwrap the chicken and remove the bag that holds the innards in the cavity of the chicken. (Read the wrapper on things you can do with the innards.)
3.) Rince the chicken, spray your crock with cooking spray and place the chicken inside. You do NOT need to put any water or liquards in the crock. Sprinkle with your favorite spices, cover and cook for 7 hours. (try: Salt, Pepper, Italian Seasoning, Paprika or garlic powder whatever your favorite combos may be.)
4.) 7 hours later you will have a wonderful yummy cooked chicken!
5.) After taking the chicken out and cutting all of the chicken off the bone put all of the bones back into the crock (You can also add the skin if you don’t eat the skin)
Add 5 Cups of water, turn to low, cover and cook over night. When you get up in the morning it’ll smell like Boston Market in your home for a week and you’ll have ALOT of broth to save!! More savings gutta love it!!
6.) Strain out the skin and bones and pour your broth into containers. Place in the fridge to cool. Once the broth is cooled you’ll have a layer of fat on the top. Remove with a spoon and wala!! You can even freeze it up to 6 mths!
