This is a recipe I found years ago and cooked a lot for my hubby when I used to work full-time and wanted something quick and easy. This is as easy as it gets! It’s very tasty too. Stay tuned for pics!
1 pd uncooked Pasta (whatever you choose, I use linguini or Penne)
2 tsp olive oil
1 small onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
2 tsp of minced garlic
1 pd sweet Italian turkey sausage
1 tsp dried basil
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp of ground black pepper
1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
Grated Parmesan cheese
Madison loved it!!!
In large pot cook pasta, drain, transfer to a bowl and cover with foil to keep warm.
Meanwhile, Cut up sausage and squash it with a heavy knife then cut as small as you can get it, heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add Onions and garlic and sauté for 2 min. Add sausage and sauté until browned. Add basil, salt, and pepper and stir to coat sausage. Add tomatoes and bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 min.
Pour mixture over cooked pasta and toss to combine. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.
